Adam's green belt promotion

This morning Adam was an orange belt, this afternoon he became a green belt. Adam started as a little dragon when he was just 4 years old he went for a year and we decided he needed a break (he was starting to really act up in class and I didn't want to get kicked out :0) ) When Adam turned 7 we went back to the same place Northwest Karate and signed him up for the adapted class. Truly Adam could have signed up for the regular classes but, this is also a social thing for Adam and his buddies. For 2 years now we go every Saturday morning for an hour. Adam loves his karate instructor Dave!!! I can not say enough good things about him. He is a very caring, kind, and very special guy!!! I also love going to karate, one of the Dad's calls it, his "support group". There are about 12 kids in the class, all with different disabilities, ranging in age from 9 to 20. Today five of the kids earned their black belts!!!!! I am very thankful for Northwest Karate!!

Enjoyed reading about Adam and his activities. As a new Dad of a child with Down syndrome, it is refreshing to read that they can live an active life. http://jaybirdnwa.blogspot.com
