Adam Phelps

This weekend was the big Special Olympic State swim meet!! It was a great time, and Michael Phelps, I mean Adam brought home 2 gold medals!!!! He did the 25 meter backstroke and the 25 meter butterfly. He had 2 other races (freestyle and relay) but sadly due to health concerns they had to close down the pool early on Saturday and all scheduled races were just scratched. Thankfully Adam had already done one race Saturday and only missed 2, there were some very sad athletes that did not get to do any races because of this. Picture above is the award ceremony for the backstroke, Adam raced against 6 boys, the boy that came in 2nd was in the lane right next to Adam and he was ahead for a little while but towards the end Adam pulled ahead and got first place!!!! I must say it was very close and really all the athletes did an amazing job and should be very proud!!! Adam broke his personal record for both events, his time for the 25 meter backstroke was 31.47 and 25 meter butterfly was 31.60!!! (I can't even do the butterfly!!) WAY TO GO ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAY TO GO ADAM!!! It's hard to believe you were wearing a life jacket when you swam last year...you are an amazing strong, athletic boy. You should be very proud of all the hard work and time you put into your swimming, it sure has paid off!
