Adam broke another record!!!!!!!!!

During school in between subjects we like to do "brain games" this is Adam's favorite part of the school day, for obvious reasons. Although games, they are truly working on different learning areas. The video of the above game is one of Adam's favorites!!! I think it was one of Dylon's favorite games when he was little too!! And still to this day even after 20 some years of playing and watching kids play this game it still makes me just about jump out of my skin when it pops!! This is great for fine motor, eye hand coordination, and it is also good for working on fast reacting skills. When we first started playing this game, Adam was around 5, and he could only do 4-5 shapes in the 60 second time limit. Yesterday he broke his personal all time high record of 17 and got 19 shapes!!!

Back in December Adam could not count by 2's, he now can count to over 100 by 2's. But, what was really a challenge was then teaching him how to count by 2's and then have it be an odd amount. He couldn't do it, he didn't see it no matter the million ways we taught or showed him.......until one day it just clicked. And in the video when he is counting and he adds on one more making it 19 might not seem like that big of a deal, but to us it is HUGE!! Also the fact that he now without being asked has carried over the skill of counting by 2's into his every day life, he realizes it is faster to count this way. Weeks ago if Adam had 18 popsicle craft sticks (thats what we use for counting here) and I added one more he would say "20" because it was hard for him to go from counting by 2s to adding one more. Yesterday he did without missing a beat!! He gets it and can put it to use! And he thinks he's just having a little break playing a game!! Gotta love that!!
