Dylon update

I haven't posted an update in a while, it is still hard for me to write about this. I keep waiting to wake up and Dylon will be home, and life will go back to how it was before. Really, I know this is so silly and stupid, and this is part of growing up, this is what I was preparing him for, but I guess I never thought he would be so far away. I miss him. But it helps to know that he is happy, he loves the adventure. We thought he was going to be able to come home for a visit this spring, he told me last week, things have changed and there is a chance he will not even be able to come home this summer. The rest of the conversation was a blur, I was trying not to cry, trying not to make him feel guilty or sad himself. He passed a test last week, not sure what it was for, I truthfully was concentrating on not crying. He has another test this week, if he passes it he will get to put his name on a waiting list to go to "A" school. If he gets into A school this summer he'll get to come home before he gets stationed somewhere else. So, this is the hope I hang on to. I did get to talk to him Monday and today, so I'm trying to be thankful, but tonight the crybaby in me is totally winning. Picture is from this past Christmas 2008 surprise visit

Oh man! I'll be praying he gets to come home for a bit this summer! By the way, Angela came home tonight and CRASHED like a ROCK into her bed! LOL

Monica, bless you during this painful transition in your family. I'm sure it is painful for all. As my wife and I watch our oldest changing daily before our eyes and enjoying his newfound freedoms from Dad and Mom, it makes us sad for us but glad that he has been brought up to be faithful to his God and is a well adjusted young man.

Isn't it amazing how we spend their childhood developing their wings, knowing that someday they must fly away and when they do, we can't wait for them to return to the nest for awhile. You're no crybaby, nor is it silly of you to miss your boy like crazy! I hope your birdie is able to come home this summer.
