Threw away the training wheels

Yes, it is official Adam can ride a 2 wheel bike. He can start off all be himself, stop, go down hills, up hills, and just today he went off his first jump!!! Okay so, he wasn't trying to go off a jump, he actually flew off the side walk, but he landed it and he looked a little freaked out until I said, "wow, you just landed your first jump!" he then thought it was very cool and had to tell everyone we saw today. We have been working on this for 2 years!!! And truly, there was a part of me that really didn't think he ever would be able to do this.......... I can't tell you how proud we are of him, and how proud he is of himself. This is huge, or in "biker/skater" language I'd say this is EPIC!!!! This means a new level of independence that Adam will have the rest of his life. To be able to get places on "wheels". I'm also a bit frightened by this, the bike will have to always be closed in garage now, unless he has permission to ride it. But, really the snow will be flying soon so then I guess I can relax..........but, next summer will be very interesting I'm sure!!!

Way to go, that is a HUGE accomplishment! I have not even started Lauren on a two-wheeler. Maybe next summer.

Thanks for visiting my blog--now I've found yours! Adam's a handsome young man! I'm always so happy to be able to hear the perspectives and insight of parents of older kids because I've got so much to learn.

Congratulations to Adam on the bike-riding!
